Has Marvel Runaways Lost Its Light? (SPOILERS)
This is dadeclan back to you with my news and opinions about tv shows and movies. In this blog I will be discussing my thoughts on the TV show, Marvel Runaways, why it has disappointed me and why it is amazing.
The show is about a group of teenagers who discover their parents are a part of a super-villains cult in disguise (knows as Pride). After going their separate ways for many years due to their friend’s death; the teenagers are thrown together. Eventually the teenager’s band together to find out what their parent’s mission is and the secrets they are keeping from them. Later on in the series they run away from their homes in order to clear themselves from their parent’s wrong doings and soon discover they aren’t just any teenagers. In the process of trying to take down Pride the group of teenagers uncover secrets about themselves.
Since the beginning of marvel Runaways it has always interested me. At the end of each episode it always left me wanting more, more explanations, more storyline. But has that feeling disappeared? Since starting the second season, I have had a sense of despair. Once I finished each episode in season 2 I was kind of like, “oh, ok the episode is done, well time to go to bed.” There was no feeling of wondering, no wanting more. Nothing! Season 1 was so good, I couldn’t believe a show this good existed. The drama and tension between the kids and the parents was riveting for me. I couldn’t have asked for more; but as season 2 progressed, I just felt abandoned, having nothing in the show to really think about. It took like 4 episodes to actually get into the storyline of season 2. The drama wasn’t enough compared to the 1st season as something big would happen and straight away it would be over and done with. No consequences, nothing. It just moved on. Even though I am totally dissing on the second season, there was still a few things I liked about it. The drama was still good to make the show likeable. It had just enough storyline to make it a show. Even though there wasn’t much storyline, the storyline that existed was just good enough for me. Overall I was disappointed with the second season as I know the show could have been better and that it did not live up to season 1 standards.
And that’s how Declan sees it!
